Description of School/College/Dept/Program:

UWM’s Department of Occupational Science and Technology (OS&T) is comprised of internationally recognized faculty and staff with expertise in both traditional and emerging areas of practice relevant to Occupational Therapy. The Department has 11.25 full-time faculty positions and 4.25 full-time academic staff positions. The Department offers a BS degree in Occupational Studies and an accredited professional MS degree in Occupational Therapy. In addition, certificates are offered in Therapeutic Recreation, Ergonomics, and Assistive Technology and Accessible Design. The OT Graduate Program is rated in the top 24% in the United States. The Rehabilitation, Research, Design, and Disability (R2D2) Center, and the Center for Ergonomics have been developed to provide in-depth interdisciplinary research opportunities. The Department of OS&T actively participates in the interdisciplinary PhD in Health Sciences.

Job Summary/Basic Function:

• Active program of research and scholarship
• Teach core and/or elective courses in Occupational Science &Technology.
• Advise students.
• Participate in service activities related to the University and/or profession.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Earned doctorate by August 24, 2015.
• Clinical experience in occupational therapy and eligible for Wisconsin OT license.
• Teaching experience in an area relevant to occupational therapy (OT), including but not limited to physical/neurological rehabilitation, mental health, assistive technology, and/or older adults.
• Peer reviewed research publications or acceptances (at least 1).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Research experience and multiple (2 or more) peer reviewed publications and/or grants in an area relevant to OT.
• Post-Doctoral training.
• Three or more years of experience in Occupational Therapy with current license.
• Evidence of experience and excellence/success in teaching university-level courses related to OT practice.
• Experience advising graduate students.
