The Chinese Program in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature in the College of Letters and Science at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.

Job Summary

We anticipate filling one full-time position. The successful candidate will teach up to 12 credit hours/semester in Chinese language and must be willing to plan, coordinate and participate in various activities to enhance the Chinese Program.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Master’s degree in Chinese linguistics, or Chinese literature, or Chinese language
pedagogy, or second language acquisition, or a related field.
2. Native or near-native fluency in Chinese Mandarin.
3. Competency in spoken and written English.
4. Five or more years of experience teaching Chinese to English-speakers at the North American college level.
5. Experience as coordinator of a Chinese Program.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in supervising teaching assistants and participating in outreach activities.
