There are 25 departments within the College across three divisions: Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences. More than 30% of UWM’s student body chooses a major in L&S. The College delivers approximately 50% of the credits conveyed to students, and nearly every undergraduate student at UWM, regardless of major, travels through L&S to complete general education requirements, which provide each student with a well-rounded, flexible education in preparation for being an active, global citizen.

Job Summary

This position resides in the Office of Curriculum, Governance, and Assessment (CGA), as part of a team which oversees curricular offerings for the College (which includes the course arrays for departments and programs, the schedule of classes, and degree programs), supports faculty governance within the College, and aids faculty in assessment of degree programs and courses.
The primary focus of this position would be oversight of the schedule of classes, course arrays, and degree programs in PAWS and Courseleaf (soon to be implemented curricular management software), building in-house record systems as needed, and other curriculum-related activities. This position would take the lead in all schedule of classes related responsibilities for the College.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree granted by the time of hire
• Minimum of two years of experience in an office setting
• Minimum of one year of experience in learning and employing enterprise software programs such as PeopleSoft or accounting software.

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years or more experiences working in a higher educational setting
• Experience with PeopleSoft/PAWS or similar course scheduling software
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, collaborative and able to build relationships across the campus
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work with a diverse population
• Supervisory experience
• Demonstrated attention to detail, professional attitude, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
