Job Summary

This position provides comprehensive office and administrative assistance to the Rehabilitation Research Design & Disability (R2D2) Center and its activities, grants, and contract funded projects. The position serves as the central hub for all operations and carries numerous responsibilities for organizing, overseeing and managing daily functioning of the Center including tasks that affect budgets, team communications, and project reporting. The position also includes responsibility for the daily functional condition of facilities, personnel schedule monitoring related to student workers and project assistants, internal and external program liaison functions, and implementation and coordination of all office functions that support center research, training and service projects.

The person in this position reports directly to the Research Program Manager and is expected to function effectively with general supervision.

Manage the central office functions of the Rehabilitation Research Design & Disability (R2D2) Center. (40%)

General Office Duties (25%)

Provide support for travel by Center staff and affiliated personnel, including preparation, audit and reconciliation of Travel Expense Reports (10%)

Purchasing Activities (10%)

Provide administrative and office support for external teams, public, and promotional activities of the Center (10%)

Perform other duties as assigned. (5%)

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience performing office functions, including purchasing and travel.
• Proven ability to use common business productivity software and applications (e.g., MS Office Suite, email, internet, calendar software)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Previous experience working in a college/university setting.
• Strong working knowledge of University policies and procedures.
• At least three years’ experience and demonstrated familiarity with University and State travel and purchasing systems and policies.
• Knowledge and ability to work with other University and State back office systems such as WISDM and WISPER.
