The User Services Division within the UWM Libraries seeks a creative and energetic professional to support UWM’s goal to remain an exceptional research university and graduate highly educated individuals at all degree levels by providing research and instructional services and informed collection management in the health sciences.

Job Summary

This position supports the university goals to be excellent in inter-disciplinary, collaborative health research and graduate highly educated individuals at all degree levels. Working under the leadership of the Research Services Lead, position responsibilities include providing effective delivery of instruction to students, staff and faculty, implementing instruction and co-curricular engagement programs aimed at the College of Nursing, College of Health Sciences and the Zilber School of Public Health, and proactive management of health science resources to support faculty and graduate student research and student learning goals. This position is expected to provide excellent customer service in a professional manner and serve as a model representative of UWM and the Libraries.

Minimum Qualifications

MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited institution
• Minimum two years post-MLIS, professional experience providing instruction or research help in an academic library or healthcare setting
• Experience conducting literature searching in health-related fields

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters or other advanced degree in a health related field
• Evidence of competency in evidence-based practice and research for nursing and health sciences
• Experience performing or teaching systematic reviews
• Knowledge of federal funding mandate compliance needs
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and coordinate work among different projects
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
