The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is a Research 1 urban university, committed to academic excellence, located in the commercial, industrial, and cultural hub of Wisconsin. The campus is in a pleasant residential neighborhood on Milwaukee’s northeast side, only a few blocks from Lake Michigan. UW-Milwaukee is one of the two “doctoral cluster” campuses in the 26-campus University of Wisconsin System, with a student enrollment of approximately 30,000.
This recruitment is being conducted by the Department of Philosophy (http://www.uwm.edu/philosophy/), which is housed in the College of Letters and Science (http://www.uwm.edu/letters-science/).

Job Summary

The Department of Philosophy invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in Philosophy to begin in August 2017. The person in this position will contribute to the BA and MA programs in the Department of Philosophy. 2/2 load, semester system, teaching at undergraduate and MA levels. Usual non-teaching duties.

Minimum Qualifications

1) PhD (completed by September 2018) in Philosophy or closely related area.
2) Research program in AOS of Philosophy of Mind or Philosophy of Language or Philosophy of Science.

Preferred Qualifications

1) Strong record, or strong evidence of promise, in research.
2) Strong record, or strong evidence of promise, in teaching.
