The Center for International Education (CIE) is a comprehensive international studies office supporting the full range of campus international education functions, including the administration of international and area studies academic and research programs, study abroad and international partnerships, international student admissions and immigration advising, and internationally-oriented co-curricular and outreach programs.

Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Director of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) at the Center for International Education (CIE), this position leads and coordinates University-wide compliance with federally mandated Student and Exchange Visitor System (SEVIS) reporting requirements.

The position will ensure the integrity and accuracy of all data uploaded to SEVIS from the PeopleSoft delivered reporting functionality, the Patriot Act SEVIS Solution (PASS). PASS extracts information from the Panther Access to Web Services (PAWS) system and sends it to SEVIS to be reported to DHS. PAWS is the campus online student services system used by students, advisors, and instructors. This position will ensure that UWM remains in compliance with all DHS reporting requirements pertaining to international students and exchange visitors while working with admission and immigration specialists in a team environment.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience in an academic or business environment focused on technology, compliance/regulations and client relations.
- Strong ability to create written communication that is informative and clear (as demonstrated in cover letter).
- US citizenship or lawful permanent resident status required for professional practice as a Designated School Official.

Preferred Qualifications

- Master’s degree.
- Knowledge of F-1 regulations.
- Technical knowledge and aptitude with web-based applications, database and data management.
- Experience with university student databases.
