Job Summary

The Center for Community-Based Learning, Leadership, and Research (CCBLLR) is seeking applications from dynamic persons interested in the position of Student Services Specialist. The Student Services Specialist or Community-Based Learning Program Manager of CCBLLR reports directly to the Director of Community-Based Learning and is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of a set of CBL opportunities administered through the Center. The Community-Based Learning Program Manager has primary oversight of CBL programs and events and plays a key role in sustaining campus /community partnerships which address community need and engage students in civic and leader identity development.

Minimum Qualifications

Successful candidates must possess:

  • A bachelor’s degree and
  • A minimum of one (1) year of full-time professional experience in higher education or the non-profit sector
Preferred Qualifications

Highly qualified candidates will also have:

  • A master’s degree in Non-Profit Management or related field
  • Knowledge of, evidenced by experience with volunteer coordination, service learning pedagogy, and student development
  • Experience planning episodic volunteer events
  • Knowledge of local and national service opportunities
  • Experience working with marginalized and underrepresented populations in the Milwaukee Community as well as an awareness of their needs and services available to them
  • Experience advising and integrating technology and effective marketing strategies aimed to target and recruit students
  • Experience establishing and fostering mutually-beneficial working relationships with students at a diverse, research, access institution
