The SSC will also lead efforts to create a campus climate in which students persist to the second year and on to graduation.

Job Summary

The Coordinator of Transition Programs position is responsible for assisting with the coordination of Family Orientation and New Student Transition programming within the Student Success Center at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The Coordinator will provide superior customer service for all programs and will handle the day-to-day operations and logistics for the Family Orientation during New Student Orientation (NSO), and Transition programs (Fall Welcome, Common Read Experience, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in Student Success programs working with a diverse student population (candidates with a Master’s degree and a minimum of one (1) year of experience as described above will also be considered).

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in a field related to student affairs or higher education administration. The successful candidate will have strong leadership, communication, problem solving and organizational skills; a history of providing strong, positive service to various stakeholders; a proven ability to work independently and effectively and with sensitivity in a team environment with a diverse group of professional colleagues and students; and experience with complex program development. Experience in student development and student support services in a higher education environment, specifically working with new students, is highly desirable.
