Job Summary

The Digital Producer
at WUWM work closely with our managing editor, reporters and producers to
create and edit multimedia content for our website, social mediaand other platforms.

•Write and edit digital news stories and headlines
•Create and edit web and social media posts using copy, visuals (photos, graphics, data
visualization, video) and other elements to tell stories online.
•Pitch digital story ideas to editors at WUWM and NPR.
•Work closely with on-air staff to enhance their digital pieces.
•Help manage WUWM’s social media accounts
•Serve as a digital advocate at the station
•Comply with WUWM’s ethical and journalistic standards
•Participate in station outreach activities.
•Perform other development activities as assigned

The incumbent will be expected to be available to work weekdays, evenings, and some weekends, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree granted by date of hire
•Minimum of 1 year of experience in digital news production
•Strong writing, grammar and AP proofreading skills

Preferred Qualifications

•Must be able to multitask on deadline, communicate across departments
•Familiar with web publishing platforms, all facets of online content production
•Demonstrates ability to create and edit photos, video and graphics
•Previous experience in public radio or other journalistic organizations
